Expanding Cultural Competence: A Panel of Women from the Satir Coaching and Mentoring Program Shares Beliefs and Expectations From Their Cultures. (CEC) The Satir Coaching and Mentoring program is now in 18 countries, and it has heightened our awareness of the need for professionals to acquire knowledge and understanding of different cultures to better serve their clients. In this workshop, a panel of women from the coaching program will share beliefs and expectations from their cultures around topics such as boundaries, gender equality, emotionality, expressions of affection, grieving, punctuality, relationship hierarchy, communication styles, and sexuality. In addition, there will be an experiential exercise to enhance the participants awareness of implicit biases and their ability to communicate about them.
